Hand-painted, eco-conscious jewelry by Cari Johnson

Cari Johnson

Cari Johnson started creating jewelry when she was in junior high, starting with painted and decopauged earrings and multimedia adornments.  She has always been drawn to color, so when she was in Chile on a Fulbright Teacher Exchange and saw the vidrio fundido (melted, painted glass) and took silver lessons, she knew she had found her "thing."  Upon returning to the United States, she took additional classes and experimented with combining silver and glass.  In the Fall of 2005, she became a member of Studiopolis, studio #423 in the Northrup King Building (NE Mpls), and began showing her work to the public.
